Magic is the first Society Springer to earn a Champion title. She is a happy, happy, happy to be happy and alive Springer. We think she fell into the cauldron of Magic potion when she was a pup, hence her name. She's outgoing, friendly and has yet to learn to walk between points A and B. Running is just so much more efficient and fun! We were surprised to see what a Zen mom she is. She had such an easy whelping we were actually amazed. How many first time mothers whelp a pup in their sleep and don't notice???

Magic is a nice liver and white bitch who's personality can win anyone over. She is currently busy being a mom but will be shown in obedience next year. Hopefully she can repeat her mom's exploits!

She is a lovely liver and white bitch with an irresistible personality. Her first litter of 8 puppies gave us three of our breeding dogs; Clancy, Gustave and Saki.

Magic wowed us by winning s Surprise Best In Show in Baie-St-Paul in July 2010.

She becomes the 9th consecutive generation to win a Best In Show and the first dog out of our breeding program to earn this prestigious title. Magic is most definetely her father, Mulder's daughter. We now have 2 generations of Best In Show winners living under our roof.

In 2010, Magic finishes the year as No. 5 Springer in Canada and no. 1 Springer bitch in Canada.

In 2011, Magic finishes the year as No. 5 Springer in Canada and no. 1 Springer bitch in Canada for the second year in a row.

In 2012, Magic wins Best Veteran at the Canadian National Speciality (BVISS) in Long Sault, Ontario.

Magic becomes the 1st bitch in Canada to earn the Grand Champion (GCh) title and for the first time ever, there are 3 consecutive generations of Grand Champion (GCh) in Canada , in September 2012.

January 2013 : Magic becomes the 2nd Grand Champion Excellent (GChEx) in the breed and 1st bitch in Canada to earn the title, immediately after her sire Mulder, the firs in Canada to earn it

In 2016, Magic wins Award of Merit  at the Canadian National Speciality from the Veterans class at the age of 12.

Magic was born into my hands, Daughter of Mulder, out of Scully, she was out of the first litter that came out of "our" dogs, our foundation couple.

We knew right away that she would be special. She had a unique character and a completely irresistible expression. Magic had her sire's shomanship and her dam's strength of character. Quite a package!

Once she finished her championship, she took a break from the ring to give her sire the room to be campaigned  but also when I showed her to my mentor, she saw some qualities in her, but not huge potential.

I listened to my mentor and left her home. Her sire dominated the ring and won group placement after group placement.

As for me? I thought my girl was beautiful...

So, one day, in July of 2010, I gave her a makeover and entered her in the Baie-St-Paul show.

Something extrodinary happened to us. I can sum it up in three short words:

Best In Show.

Margaret Jone's comments, whoawarded us the win, were as follows: this is a bitch that is in no way extreme but has  all the requred qualites and no major faults.

Magic's show career had been launched and I can confidently say she left no one indifferent. Everyone wanted to adopt her, show her...

Magic and I had so much fun in the ring, but I did let Danick play with my Crazy girl once in a while. She also was many a Junior handler's accomplice as well.

Magic, like her sire, wrote her name in the breed's history book in Canada. She is the first female to earn the title Grand Champion Excellent. She is part of the only Sire-Daughter duo to ever earn the title thus far and there are few breeds in which this has occured. She is, as far as we know, the 10th generation in a row to win a Best In Show.

Magic unfortunately had a short career as a brood bitch, but she gave us a wonderful litter, of which we kept two males, one earning the title of Grand Champion and a pretty bitch who lives with Danick's family.

However, what made Magic my heart dog was her personality, her temperament, her character. Magic is a pigheaded, crazy, insane, silly, funny, singing clown with an isnatiable stomach who snoops and sticks her nose ALL. OVER ALL THE TIME, to find the smallest particle of food. She has a bionic nose that would have made her an excellent Customs dog.

Magic, in her life, has eaten: 8lbs of cat food (in one sitting), 2 lbs of dark choolate and lived to tell the tale, 1 glass of milk (leaving the pieces of glass only), cobs of corn,  and more.

You get the picure.

At 13 1/2, deaf as a doornail and with cataracts, she was starting to really look like an old dog, but she was in top shape. Magic was indestructible.

Until the night of January 8, 2018, she began to whine in her crate. I eventually let her out for a pee because you know, old dogs and all... But when she came back in... Horror

There was no doubt. No. Not her, not my beautiful Magic.

She had Bloat.

The only thing left to do was put an end to her suffering and to let her cross the Rainbow bridge.

My heart broke with her passing.

It is with tear-filled eyes that I wrote these lines. It is impossible to do otherwise.

Magic, my heart, my girl, my beautiful, my crazy love, safe travels.

Wait for me on the other side of the bridge.

One day, we'll see each other again.

In the mean time, I will cherish our last quiet Sunday together, snuggled, watching TV.

Thank you, goodbye, I love you forever, my dog.
